The Santa Fe player beat over 875 other competitors to win the over 21 million peso first prize at the Casino Buenos Aires event. He beat Matas Verón in the final table’s heads-up match.
In the wee hours of Monday morning, Madero Poker hosted the conclusion of the first stop of the 11th season of the Argentina Poker Circuit. From the Super High Roller to the High Roller, and of course, the Main Event, the CAP Buenos Aires shined brightly.
The Main Event is called such for a reason, and Claudio Fernandez’s victory earned him the trophy and more than 21 million pesos in prize money.

The Main Event lasted for six days, with four starting sessions, with 875 players contributing $170,000 to the total pot value of $123,462,500. Santa Fe’s Fernandez, who had been ranked third in chips among the final nine, eventually won the tournament and took home $21,050,356.

Claudio won the final heads-up match against Matas Verón of Rosario, who took home $14,050,032. Third place went to Julián Yebra of Buenos Aires, who pocketed $10,740,003.
The CAP’s next scheduled event will take place from April 12-16 at Casino Club Santa Rosa in La Pampa.
