Ceará has now seen two consecutive players reach the final table of the WSOP Spring Tour. Eighth-place finisher in Event 16: $1,500 NL Hold’em Bounty was Ivan Limeira. In all, he made $27,205.
Ivan’s last move, an open push for 8 large blinds, left him seemingly in last place. Only “sickerwayner” paid out, with a tabled four of a kind. Ivan’s A6 had him dominated, and the K10859 board gave him no opportunities to win.
Two hours later, a Russian by the name of Arsenii Malinov cried out in triumph. He not only received the golden ring, but also $198,708.
Ivan and Fabio Freitas made it to the Big Showdown. The Sao Paulo recreational only had a brief stay in the top 20, however. This time he added $6,812 to his savings.
A total of $1,404 players participated in Event 16, which resulted in a prize pool of $2,700.
